Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Brockton community gardens! Our goal is to have no garden left behind in the summer months, when the schools are not in session and when most of the work needs to be done. Therefore, we are looking for volunteers to "adopt a garden" during the growing season (from about April through October). What does this mean? It means committing to caring for a garden on a regular basis by doing a variety of things, from helping to turn over the soil, adding compost, planting seeds and seedlings, watering, weeding, and harvesting. If you, your church group, your civic group, your club, your bowling league, or whatever group you are involved with would like to volunteer, please contact us! If there is a garden (see list below) you would prefer to "adopt," please let us know that too. Send an email to Vivian at [email protected] with your contact information, and we will contact you as soon as possible to get you started learning and helping! Please check back frequently, as we may have needs for new beds or different sites!
